Nigeria's 2027 general election runs over two Saturdays, and knowing which offices are decided on which day matters for planning — both for voters and for ward organisers.
On Saturday, 16 January 2027, voters elect the President and Vice President on a single joint ticket, alongside all 109 seats in the Senate and all 360 seats in the House of Representatives. Polls open at 8:30am.
On Saturday, 6 February 2027, three weeks later, voters return to the same polling units to elect state governors in the states holding governorship elections, and members of the state houses of assembly in all 36 states.
Your polling unit is the same on both days, and so is the requirement: your own Permanent Voter Card, presented at the unit where you are registered. Use the polling unit finder in the app to confirm exactly where that is before January.
